A 19th-century German novelist named Gustav Freytag noticed patterns in the way people were creating and telling stories. To analyze those patterns, he created a diagram that captured the dramatic structure of those stories. We now call this diagram Freytag’s Pyramid. In this activity, students will learn about the five main parts of Freytag’s Pyramid and come up with examples for each part.
